Construction of Our Own Place Progress Update

Schedule Update:
A schedule update from Wacther is not included in this month’s report. However, based on progress to date we would anticipate that the project will be substantially completed during the latter half of June 2008. About a week to ten days were lost when the building was broken into in early April 2008, while the Builder’s Risk Insurance Claim was resolved. Wet weather in early April also delayed the start of the site construction activities.

Project Narrative:
Importation of soil fill material, required due to the building pad being raised 12” last fall, began on the last day of April 2008. Weather–permitting, this work should be completed within 3-4 days. Wet conditions during April 2008 prevented this from starting earlier. Concrete curb and sidewalk installation will begin as soon as the grading / filling operation has been completed. This will be followed by asphalt paving finish grading and landscaping activities.

Painting of drywall surfaces was completed during April and interior “finish” work has bow started. Light fixtures, HVAC grilles and registers, and electrical devices (switches, outlets, and cover plates) are now being installed. Replacement of damaged electrical wiring and HVAC piping began on April 28th and should be completed by the end of the first full week of May 2008. Installation of flooring and cabinetry should begin by mid-May. Plumbing “finish” work will then begin.

Who Loves You?
